Country Cabinets Celebrates 30 Years of
“Truly Custom” Cabinetry on May 3, 2018
May Burnsville Chamber Business After Hours hosted by Country Cabinets
Country Cabinets, designer and manufacturer of custom cabinetry, will celebrate its 30-year anniversary on May 3, 2018. The public is invited for an open house at the shop, which includes tours, appetizers, refreshments and giveaways from 4-7 p.m. at 28010 Foliage Ave, Northfield.
A family-owned business since 1988, Country Cabinets grew from the dreams of founder Dave Mittelstaedt Sr., who initially concentrated on building custom cabinets for new home construction with homebuilder Mittelstaedt Brothers Construction. As the home building industry evolved, the company shifted its focus to residential remodeling for homeowners in the Twin Cities and throughout Minnesota. Today, Country Cabinets is run by brothers Dave Mittelstaedt Jr. and Mike Mittelstaedt, sisters Christina Dormady, Sarah Mittelstaedt and Dave Jr.’s wife Mary.
“We are proud to celebrate 30 years of building high-quality, custom cabinets for homeowners,” said Dave Jr . “Our commitment to meeting the ever-changing needs of our customers remains as strong as ever.”
Homeowners looking to tackle large home renovation projects, such as remodeling a kitchen, building a wet bar, revitalizing a bathroom or customizing a home office, turn to Country Cabinets. The family business is known for their superior construction, woodworking expertise and commitment to excellence.
As a “truly custom” cabinetmaker, Country Cabinets builds each component in-house, from the doors and drawers to the face frames and cases. This provides customers with an endless array of high quality options to choose from, whether their style is contemporary, rustic, traditional, or modern. Working within large or small budgets.
“We are able to build more than 800 different cabinets in-house using the highest quality materials,” said Dave Jr.. “We take pride in researching the best materials and building the best product we can.”

The design process begins with a Country Cabinets designer visiting the customer’s home to view the space and learn about the project requirements. The customer is then invited to visit the shop , where they are able to see how the cabinets are constructed. The designer then presents a 3D rendition of the project and explains all of the included features. Once a plan is in place, the customer can rest assured there won’t be any surprises.
“Our first quote always includes the best possible materials and finishes, because we want our customers to understand all of the possibilities,” said Dave Jr. “We are able to customize projects to meet the customer’s style and budget.”
Country Cabinets uses state-of-the-art machinery to craft each cabinet. The staff understands the nuances of all species of wood and can seamlessly blend and match colors to meet unique specifications. This skill has given Country Cabinets a reputation for being able to match even the trickiest colors and finishes.
To ensure that projects are done right and on time, Country Cabinets controls every aspect of the design, build and installation process. If repairs are needed down the road—a very rare occurrence—customers can rest assured that Country Cabinets will be there.
“We take pride in our work and stand behind it 100 percent,” said Dave Jr. “Our customers can count on us for cabinets that will withstand the tests of time.”
