Do you, your employees or customers travel on County Road 42 in Burnsville?
Be prepared for Road Closures by April 17th!
The county Road 42 Turn Lane Extension & I-35W Bridge Preservation Project is scheduled to begin April 17, 2017. What does this mean for you?
ALL Westbound lanes of County Road 42 across 35W WILL BE CLOSED April 17 – May 22, 2017 (35 days)
ALL Eastbound lanes of County Road 42 across 35W Bridge WILL BE CLOSED May 22 – June 21, 2017 (30 days)
What do we mean by closed? CLOSED, no thru traffic!
This is not a lane reduction situation, if anyone uses the County Road 42 bridge to get to or from your business they will need an alternate route. This will effect on and off ramps of 35 during parts of the project.
Update: The City will waive enforcement of the temporary sign ordinance for any business located in the designated construction area (see attached map) from April 10, 2017 until completion of construction. When the city waives the temp sign ordinance a business can put signs on their property, not on public property or on other private property.

The Chamber is working closely with the City, County and Mn DOT to provide the best communication possible during this project. We will be putting together some communications that you will be able to share on social media to help spread the word that Burnsville is Open for Business during the project. Please let us know if you have questions or suggestions.
Keep in mind that the County detours will only route traffic on County roads. There may be local roads that are better to access your business and you may want to come up with your own alternate routes.
