Membership Drive 2017 is in the books and what a great drive it was.

The Membership Drive for 2017 has come to an end as a resounding success!  Every Fall the Burnsville Chamber of Commerce and many volunteers go out and about in the Burnsville area to make businesses aware of the benefits of belonging to the Chamber.

This year, from September 5 through the 30th of October, twenty-four volunteer members (divided into five teams) were out talking to friends and visiting businesses sharing what the Chamber has done for them.  During the heart of the drive, a “Check Out the Chamber Breakfast” was held at the Burnsville Center where members brought in potential new members so they could test the waters.

The drive resulted in thirty-two businesses taking the first step in growing their business by joining the Chamber.  A celebration to welcome the new members was held on Monday, October 30 at the Black Diamond Restaurant located at Buck Hill with new members, existing members and Chamber staff in attendance.

New members will now take the next step by attending a Chamber 101 as soon as possible to learn how to take advantage of the core benefits the Chamber offers.  They will be busy attending events to network and build lasting relationships. The Chamber will be busy working for them in the Community and the Legislature, so members can concentrate on running their business.

We would like to thank our sponsors, members who made donations and all the volunteers who helped make this Membership Drive a success.  Donating gift Cards for our drawings were – Anchor Bank and the law firm of Dougherty, Molenda, Solfest, Hills and BauerAmericInn and Zero1zero Innovations provided Pit Stops during the drive, and Black Diamond hosted the New Member reception and provided the appetizers.  In September, Xcel Energy hosted the “Check Out The Chamber” breakfast.

The highlights from the New Member Reception was accouncing the two top teams,  led by Captain Rosie Martin and Mike McKeen, and the winner of the Top Gun award.  This award is given to the member/members bringing in the most new members and this year there was actually a four-way tie.  The winners were Melissa Meyer | Burnsville Center, Amber Peterson | Amber Budd Atelier, Betsi Sherman | Metro Baseball League, & Sandra Schlafer | King & Companies.

Thank you to everyone for a great Membership Drive!
